Obviously the 1 and 2 year reviews are more important, but at 3 months it's going strong and we really like this dishwasher. We got this appliance through a mix-up; we'd ordered the MDB7749SAM, which arrived with a bent hinge. We returned it and were informed the MDB7749SAM was no longer available (as of Feb 2013) so the newer MDB7749SBM was substituted. It's a fine machine, easily the best dishwasher we've owned to date. Installed it myself, was straightforward, no leaks (after a month of checking), good instructions on how to install. All hookups were reasonably easy to reach toward the front of the machine. The insulation around the machine is voluminous! Especially behind the apron. Which makes for an exceedingly quiet machine. Cleaning power is impressive. The instructions "persuaded" us to start using a liquid rinse product. The combination of the new powerful machine with the liquid rinse product means we're seeing the cleanest dishes and glasses we've ever had...by a large margin. So far this dishwasher vies with my refrigerator as "favorite appliance." Criticisms? The insulation makes for a tight fit. I actually duct-taped the insulation down in a few places, previous to installation, so that I could get the dishwasher in place without the insulation "bunching" and tearing upon install. Also to start the machine, you "double tap." First tap wakes it up, second tap starts it. If you just push the "start" button once it'll not start. That caught me off guard at first. The feedback lights are very small so you need to look carefully that you've successfully started the machine...especially since you probably won't be hearing much of anything. Is it fair to criticize the long wash cycle? Probably not, as that is the new standard for low-water-use appliances. AFAIK, all modern low-water-use appliances extend the wash cycle. It's a tradeoff. To use less water, and wash more efficiently, the wash cycle must be extended. Such is 'progress.' In sum: quiet, powerful, clean, attractive. Now let's just hope it's long-lasting, too.
